New Baby Arrives

Baby Maria Jose

By Alej Diaz

Baby Maria is less than 40 days old and it is easy to say that she has had a hard life.

She was born premature and spent the first few weeks of her life in intensive care.  After her birth, her mother walked out of the hospital and disappeared into the streets of Guatemala City.  She left no address and made it clear that she did not have a home.

When Baby Maria got to an appropriate weight, Social Services began to look for a home for her.  They came to us first and asked if we would take her.

Without hesitation we said, “YES!”

Please pray for Baby Maria.  The first few weeks of her life have been traumatic.  Let’s pray that God uses the months and years to come to calm and reassure her that He loves her and has a plan for her life.  Our team has already surrounded her with love and care.  We will be there for her every day of her life making sure she has everything she needs to grow, thrive, and become the person God created her to become.

    Hello,
My daughter was born premature at 27 weeks, and spent 72 days in NICU. I lost my first 9 years ago this month, he was born too soon. My daughter is now 7, almost 8 years old. My husband and I have thought about adopting. I heard about Doris Van Stone on ‘Hope for the Heart’ by June Hunt. So in searching for more about Doris, I came across this.
