Lucky and Jennifer Leading the New School Year
The 2022 school year at Dorie’s Promise is going to be amazing! We have a new schedule, more teachers, an expanded curriculum, and related arts classes. Last week, our homeschool students started classes and they’re absolutely loving the new format. These exciting changes couldn’t be possible without our amazing teachers, especially those who have worked for months to create an even better learning experience.

Lucky
How many years have you been a teacher? I’ve been a teacher for 8 years. Before teaching, I worked as a Special Mother.
What do you like most about teaching? I love giving each student all the information I can. Knowing how useful I am to some of them is special to me as well. I get to see their learning process, which is wonderful. Most special, I love when the kids find out what they’re passionate about and start working towards their goals.
What do you like about Dorie’s Promise? In all the years I’ve been here, I appreciate the friendship and kindness from everyone most. The other teachers, the administrative staff, everyone is extremely understanding and supportive. Most importantly, I appreciate that everyone loves God above everything, making Dorie’s Promise a strong and focused place for our kids.
What do you like the most about the kids? I love watching their progress physically, emotionally, and intellectually. I marvel at how much their minds grow every day. Each stage in their lives is exciting, challenging, and completely amazing. I love watching them be themselves and getting to share their achievements with them.

How many years have you been a teacher? I’ve been a teacher for close to 10 years.
What do you like the most about teaching? The thing I enjoy the most about teaching is watching how the kids’ minds grow through my knowledge. I also love the connection I have with them as I share my experiences and my lessons. Whenever the kids remember me and the moments we had together, I realize the impact I have in their lives.
What do you like about Dorie’s Promise? Every single kid here is unique. Every day I grow as a person with them and my fellow teachers. Even though I’m the teacher, I’m always learning from everyone. Learning about everyone’s personality traits, the way they love each other, and what makes them happy is so lovely.
What do you like the most about the kids? They’re really funny. Also, they’re not afraid to be totally and unapologetically themselves with their jokes, their thoughts, and their goofiness. They make me feel like I’m a kid again, comfortable and able to let go. The children make me be the best version of myself because of how happy they are.
Thank you Lucky and Jennifer for your dedication to our children.
