Hi! My name is Ingrid. I remember the day I came to Dorie’s Promise with my sisters and little brother. I was 8 years old, sad, worried, and didn’t know what to expect. I was severely abused for years and worked in the streets to support our family. At first, I had a hard time feeling safe and was very protective of my siblings, but once I realized we were in a loving home, my life started to change. I love to laugh with my friends and enjoy clothes and makeup like most teen girls. My quinceañera party, a Guatemalan tradition when girls turn 15, was my dream come true—I felt like a princess. Getting good grades in school is very important to me, and I am looking forward to going to college. I realize now that I have a purpose and many opportunities available. With the help of my counselor, I have been able to forgive, and my future feels bright.
Ingrid enjoys devotional time. She participates and has a true interest in having a relationship with God.
She is a good student and works hard at her schoolwork. She LOVES hamburgers and playing soccer with her friends.
