As 2025 approaches, we look back on 2024 as a year filled with changes, challenges, and exciting new opportunities. Let’s take a moment to relive some of the best memories the children have shared with us—those moments that brought joy and made each day unforgettable.

Visits to Campo Marte

Campo Marte, a multipurpose sports facility with courts for volleyball, soccer, and basketball, as well as workout machines and open spaces, became a favorite spot for the kids this year. Throughout 2024, they visited this dynamic space often, whether for internal activities or alongside missionary groups.

The highlight? Attending a holiday camp at Campo Marte toward the end of the year. Many of the children cherished making new friends and connecting with peers their own age. They also explored sports they hadn’t tried before, like baseball and kickball. For some of the girls, these sports seemed exclusive to boys—until they joined in and had a blast.

And who could forget Elizabeth leading Zumba classes with her contagious energy? Without a doubt, Campo Marte was a place of laughter, learning, and unforgettable memories in 2024.

Missionary Visits

The visits from short-term missionaries were another cornerstone of joy this year. Language barriers were no obstacle—after all, soccer doesn’t require much talking! These shared moments of play and connection brought immense happiness to our children, alongside the countless activities missionaries organized to brighten their days.

For some, like Nayeli and Ulices, these visits were also opportunities to practice their English. Ulices, in particular, felt proud to help translate phrases, and it’s been wonderful to see his growing confidence. Each missionary group is unique, leaving behind a lasting impact on the children and planting seeds of hope and happiness in their hearts.

Spending Time with Friends

Across the board, the children emphasized how much they value time with their friends and the people who care for them—whether it’s their teachers, Special Mothers, or other staff members. These moments of connection bring meaning to their daily routines and chores.

At the end of the day, it’s our friends who are always there for us, and the children cherish every moment shared with those they love.

Every child had their own “special moment of the year.” For Merari, it was enjoying Chinese food on her birthday. For Alejandra and Ana, it was passing their school year—Alejandra in high school and Ana at university. Santiago proudly celebrated graduating from preschool.

For many, 2024 was about stepping into new phases of life, achieving milestones, and growing in confidence. It was also a year for practicing kindness, whether by helping missionaries with community projects, cheering up a friend, sharing a sweet treat, or gifting handmade drawings.
