Expanding Educational Opportunities: Our Journey Toward Accreditation

Expanding Educational Opportunities: Our Journey Toward Accreditation

At Dorie’s Promise, we believe that every child deserves a strong foundation for their future, and education is at the heart of that mission. That’s why we’ve been working diligently to enhance our homeschool program and take the next step—earning official accreditation from the Guatemalan government.

Currently, our homeschool program operates under the oversight of an existing ISEA (Instituto Superior de Educación a Distancia) education program, which ensures structured learning, monitors student progress, and provides accountability for our teaching methods. While this partnership has allowed us to offer a strong educational foundation, achieving our own accreditation will give us even greater autonomy and the ability to tailor our program to best meet the needs of the children in our care.

To make this vision a reality, we’ve taken several important steps:

  • Hiring Highly Qualified Teachers – A strong education begins with dedicated and knowledgeable teachers. We have invested in experienced educators who not only bring expertise in their subject areas but also a passion for working with children from diverse backgrounds. Among our teaching staff, three are trained in special education, allowing us to better support children with learning differences and ensure that every student receives the personalized attention they need to succeed.
  • Full-Time Education Coordinator – Managing an education program goes beyond teaching lessons—it requires structure, organization, and long-term planning. Our full-time education coordinator plays a crucial role in curriculum development, teacher support, and student progress tracking. With her leadership, we ensure that each child receives a well-rounded education that meets national standards while also addressing their unique learning needs.
  • Early Stimulation & Intervention Program – The foundation for learning starts early. Our early stimulation and intervention program supports toddlers and preschool-aged children by equipping them with essential cognitive, social, and motor skills before they transition into formal schooling. Using Montessori methods, we encourage hands-on, child-led learning that fosters independence and curiosity. Additionally, this program plays a crucial role in identifying cognitive and developmental delays early on, allowing children to receive specialized care and intervention when needed. By addressing these challenges early, we create a stronger pathway for their long-term success in school and life.
  • Bringing in Accreditation Expertise – Navigating the accreditation process is complex, but we are not doing it alone. We’ve hired a specialized consultant with extensive experience in educational accreditation who is guiding us through every step. He understands the government’s requirements and is helping us design a structured, compliant program that will allow us to meet all necessary standards efficiently and successfully. His expertise ensures that we approach this transition strategically and with confidence.

Achieving accreditation will be a transformative step for our education program. It will validate the quality of education we provide, allowing our students to receive recognized academic credentials that will support their future academic and career opportunities. Most importantly, it will reinforce our commitment to giving the children at Dorie’s Promise the best possible education, tailored to their needs and circumstances.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Your support enables us to continue investing in the future of these incredible children, empowering them to dream, learn, and thrive.
