This is one of our favorite parts of the day.

The kitchen fills with the sound of chatter and laughter as the children gather around the table. Prayers are said in unison. A pitcher of juice is passed. Plates are served and the world feels safe and full. What feels ordinary to us, the comfort of a warm meal and happy conversation, means everything to our children in Guatemala.

Many of them came from places where food once meant survival, not comfort. They learned early to go without. Here, mealtime is different. It is predictable. It is shared. It is filled with care and love.
