Building Bright Futures: The Inspiring Journeys of Ana and Myra

At Dorie’s Promise, we take immense pride in watching the young women in our care grow, thrive, and take significant steps toward their futures. Today, we’re excited to share the incredible progress of two of our university students, Ana and Myra, who have worked tirelessly to shape their lives and careers. Their journeys are nothing short of inspiring, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for them in 2025.

Ana’s Journey: A Passion for International Relations

Ana has just completed her first year of studying International Relations, and it’s been a year filled with growth and learning. For Ana, this year has laid a solid foundation for the academic and personal development she’ll continue to build upon in the years ahead. She’s enjoyed discovering new interests and challenges along the way, especially one of her favorite courses: etiquette. This course has equipped her with essential skills for formal settings, including proper dressing, dining etiquette, and social manners.

Additionally, Ana has deepened her understanding of different countries and cultures, which she finds both fascinating and eye-opening. These lessons have inspired her to stay focused and determined as she looks forward to her second year of university. With a clear vision for her future, Ana is committed to improving her study habits and time management skills, which have been key to her success so far. She is even considering taking on a part-time job to gain more experience and build a strong résumé for her future career.

Myra’s Remarkable Commitment to Medicine

On the other hand, Myra’s journey has been one of perseverance and dedication. She is currently studying Medicine, a field known for its intense demands, and next year will mark her fourth year in the program. Over the past few years, Myra has faced numerous challenges, including moments of exhaustion and stress. These experiences have pushed her to refine her study methods and develop stronger concentration, ensuring she is prepared for the rigorous path ahead.

This year holds a special significance for Myra, as she has just participated in the White Coat Ceremony, a milestone event in every medical student’s career. This ceremony signifies that she is about to begin working with real patients, an exciting and daunting step. As Myra puts it: “There’s a saying that we learn from our mistakes, but in my case, that doesn’t apply because I can’t make mistakes with my patients.” This statement perfectly encapsulates Myra’s serious approach and commitment to her future as a medical professional.

Facing New Challenges: What’s Next for Myra?

Looking ahead, Myra knows that next year will bring even more challenges. She will need to apply everything she has learned in the classroom to real-world scenarios, which will no doubt involve sleepless nights and long, tiring days. Despite the difficulty of the road ahead, Myra feels confident in her preparation. Over the past three years, she has made sacrifices, from giving up hobbies to enduring tough study sessions, but she believes all of this will be worth it when she achieves her dream of becoming a doctor.

The Future of Ana and Myra: A Bright Outlook

Both Ana and Myra are on their way to becoming remarkable professionals, and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and dedication. These two young women are passionate, driven, and determined to achieve the goals they’ve set for themselves. Their journeys are a testament to the importance of discipline, sacrifice, and support along the way.

At Dorie’s Promise, our mission doesn’t stop when the girls turn 18; it’s about providing continuous support to help them build solid, fulfilling futures. We are committed to offering the academic resources and guidance they need to succeed, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supports our Young Adult Transition Program.
