Heather is the visionary behind Forever Changed International. Her journey began as a young woman visiting orphanages in Eastern Europe, where she was deeply moved by the needs of vulnerable children. That experience sparked a lifelong commitment to creating something better. Decades later, Heather continues to champion the belief that every child deserves a loving family and the chance to thrive. Her leadership drives our mission forward—ensuring each child at Dorie’s Promise receives the care, dignity, and opportunity they deserve. When she’s not working, Heather loves exploring the outdoors of the Pacific Northwest with her family.

Director, Dorie’s Promise Guatemala 

Alejandra is the heart of Dorie’s Promise. Years ago, while accompanying a frightened young girl to court, she instinctively knelt down and offered a hug. The child immediately embraced her—and that moment has defined her approach ever since. Alejandra leads with faith and love, creating a home where children feel seen, safe, and supported. Outside of her work, she enjoys time with her husband and three children, reading, and serving in her church.

Missions Director

Naomi brings passion and precision to our mission trip program. With a heart for children and an eye for detail, she coordinates every aspect of our visiting teams—making each experience impactful and unforgettable. She firmly believes Guatemala becomes real when you experience it firsthand. In her free time, Naomi enjoys the outdoors with her husband and two sons or cheering on the Portland Trail Blazers.

Physician 

A lifelong pediatrician, Dr. Castro has dedicated his career to serving the most vulnerable—especially those without access to quality medical care. At Dorie’s Promise, our children are blessed by his compassionate and consistent care. Beyond our home, he also provides medical support in rural villages across Guatemala. And if you meet him, be ready—he’ll proudly tell you about his coffee. It’s the second best in the world… just ask him!

Psychologist

For over a decade, Ana María has lovingly cared for the emotional and mental health of our children. She is continually inspired by their resilience and the healing she witnesses each day. In addition to her work at Dorie’s Promise, she provides psychological care in rural Mayan communities—bringing hope to those with limited access to support. In her spare time, Ana María enjoys reading, writing, and playing tennis with her husband.

Administrator

With decades of experience in accounting and project management, Selvyn provides the solid administrative foundation that keeps Dorie’s Promise running smoothly. His work allows our team to focus fully on the children’s care. More than an administrator, Selvyn is also a mentor—intentionally building relationships and offering daily encouragement to our children. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family, playing music, all kinds of sports, and reading.

Board Member

Barb’s connection to Forever Changed International began in the 1990s, when she and her husband Tom adopted three children with Heather Radu’s help. Since then, she’s been a faithful supporter of FCI and now serves as a valued member of our board. Barb believes deeply that Dorie’s Promise is different—and she’s committed to helping others see why. Now happily retired, Barb and Tom enjoy splitting their time between Washington and Nevada.
